These are questions you will answer as you paint, collage and build a visual journal that expresses your creative soul. Making Marks & Collage Canvas Explore a myriad of painting and mark making techniques on large canvas/paper surfaces. You will be lead through a series of jumpstarts to make creative textured canvas backgrounds, spilling words, writing thoughts . splashing...dripping paint, scribbling color & making marks.
PORTFOLIO: construction The portfolio will be constructed from all the artwork pieces you have created. The portfolio panels are stitched or taped together with pages that flip and fold in a random fashion. The finished book opens up to reveal your creative soul through paintings, images and words.
Materials list..please bring the following: 1/2 yd or muslin, Kona cotton or drill cloth 20 sheets -Misc. papers up to 12"x18" to use to paint (examples: heavy drawing paper, copy paper, newsprint, Xerox copies, watercolor, graph paper, envelopes, maps, ledger paper..things you have collected. Try not to buy any new paper) 2 manila folders 2 brown grocery bags A collection of YOU: a few fabric scraps, trim, images, drawings, photos, magazine clippings, black & white photocopies, a few beads 2 - 1" foam brushes water containers Brayer A roll of tape (colored duct/masking tape/gaffers tape) plastic paint scraper - like old hotel key/gift card Book binding needle Metal ruler Scissors Painting smock
