Freestyle machine stitching... funky beaded embroidery...luscious, random stitching techniques that are layered on painted patchwork art quilts of altered fabric and hand-painted cloth to create a funky large tote. We will explore fabric painting and dyeing techniques including color scraping, monoprints, dyed cloth stamping, stenciling and glazing. Learn how to doodle letters, words and faces on fabric, layer fabric with hand painted transparencies and colored-dyed fabric images. No sewing experience required. Sewing machine required.
Supply list: • Favorite heavy bodied, fluid and ink acrylic colors (I prefer Golden, Lumiere, Dye-Na-Flow, FW Pearlescent) • ½ yd muslin, Kona cotton in cream/white • ½ yd silence cloth by Oak Hills or Warm & Natural (enough for the size of bag you want to create) • 1 yd of fabric for lining bag or scraps • 1 yd.
